The Super Y League is a National Summer League comprised of over 800+ teams that compete in the Super Y Division of the United Soccer Leagues.  The Super Y Division is the most competitive youth division in North America and is the breeding ground for tomorrow’s college, professional, and national team players. 

How Long Does the Season Last?

The Gunners Super Y Season begins officially in June and runs through the first or second week in August.  If the team qualifies, they will take part in the Super Y National Finals in Tampa, Florida in November. 

How many players does the team take?

The roster size is 26 and we encourage our coaches to take that many as players will miss for vacations and personal reasons through out the summer.  This also increases competition for not only starting spots but also game day roster spots.  The maximum a team may have on game days is 18.

How Much Does Super Y Cost?

The Cost is $525 for the season.  The uniform is $110. 

Do I have to purchase a new uniform if I already have a Gunners uniform?

No, the Gunners will be keeping the same uniforms during the 2008 season.

How many times a week does the team practice?

That is up to the coach, but typically it is about twice a week.  With so many games we do not want to wear the players down too much. 

How many games are played during the season?

Games will range between 10-14 depending on the age group. 

Does my child have to attend every game and every practice?

Though we encourage a solid commitment from every player, we understand that families take vacations and plan a year in advance.  If you have planned to go on vacation, please go.  We ask that you please let the coach know as early as possible for any abscense for seen. 

How far will the teams have to travel?

Teams will travel as far north as Maryland and as far south as Raliegh and Charlotte.  Some teams may have to travel to Atlanta.  In the event of qualification for the National Finals, the team will travel to Tampa.  Scheduling for Super Y begins in March and we will work to try to reduce travel as much as possible. 

Is travel included in the cost?

No.  However, we will be putting together a travel package shortly that will set up hotels, if needed, and buses for long trips.  Once we have more information we will pass that along.
