The former All-State high school players, both of whom now play for James Madison University, will be in uniform when the Gunners kickoff their campaign this Sunday, May 11th, at 5 o’clock, against the Rhode Island Stingrays at the Fredericksburg Academy Athletic Complex. FREDERICKSBURG, VA. - (April 15th, 2008) - The FC Fredericksburg Gunners are pleased to announce a camp partnership with legendary English side Chelsea FC. The camps, which will be conducted during the week of June 30th through July 3rd at the Fredericksburg Academy Athletic Complex, will feature training from several coaches associated with the club. Chelsea FC is one of the most popular soccer teams in the world, and is a perennial contender for the English Premier League Title as well as the Champions League tournament, which determines the best club team in Europe. FC Fredericksburg Lady Gunners players Maria and Marissa Mohammed recently lived out a soccer players’ dream; to represent their country in an attempt to qualify for the Olympics. While the twins were unable to secure a place in the Olympic Finals to be held in Beijing this summer, they no doubt had some great experiences and made memories which will last a lifetime.
