Fredericksburg, VA – The F.C. Fredericksburg Gunners announced today a renewed commitment to excellence by reorganizing the structure of the front office and its staff. The change has been brought about by the club’s successful growth during its first two years in the United Soccer League (USL). “Our goal is to compete at the highest level in all aspects of the sport. We currently have a high quality staff, but the ability to restructure allows us to become more efficient in all parts of the organization,” stated Gunners’ Director of Soccer Programs, Martin Dell.
Current Technical Director, Eric Dutt, has been appointed Assistant Coach of
Stetson
University ’s Men’s Soccer Team. This is a feather in the cap for both Eric and the Gunners. Those of you who want to follow his new collegiate career can visit www.gohatters.com and follow the sports’ link to the soccer page.
The Fredericksburg Gunners are excited to make the following changes in their staffing structure in order to compensate for the loss of Eric as well as the recent departure of Brian Shumate. We wish them every success for the future!
Martin Dell will assume Eric’s responsibilities as Director of Soccer Programs/Technical Director, with Christian Neagu as Assistant Technical Director. Michael O’Hehir will take over as General Manager of the Gunners effective 9/1/08 and will be responsible for overall running of the club. Michael’s cell number is
804-564-6453 , or he may be contacted at mohehir@fcfred.com.
Additionally, we are fortunate enough to be adding several other exceptional volunteers, who will facilitate communication with the parents and customer service. We will update the website with the new office hours for the off-season as soon as they are finalized.
The Gunners would like to take this opportunity to give Robin Marine, who served as Director of Registration & Finance, a big round of Gunners applause for her efforts on FC Fred’s behalf. Robin has a busy career and family life and has rightly decided that they should come first at this time. Thanks again, Robin!
We at FC Fred would also like to thank the parents, children, players, volunteers and all Gunners everywhere for their support during the 2008 Season! We look forward to an even more successful 2009!
