Fredericksburg, VA – (Thursday, July 10, 2008) - FC Fredericksburg Lady Gunner Nicola Davies was recognized for her performance last week against the Northern Virginia Majestics. The goalkeeper, who has been stellar since her arrival in early June, garnered a week 11 honorable mention for her eight saves in the team’s 0-0 tie against their in-state rivals.
Lady Gunner Head-Coach Gerry Austin says, “I’m really excited for Nicky! She has been fantastic for us this season, and she fully deserves to be recognized.”
Davies now joins Ryan Johnson, Henry Kalungi, and Matt Lacey as FC Fredericksburg league honorees. General Manager Brian Shumate explains how, “It is fantastic that more of our players are being honored by the league. Its a true testament to the quality within our organization, and I’m excited to see the club earn that respect.
