FREDERICKSBURG, VA. -  (April 15^th, 2008) - The FC Fredericksburg Gunners are pleased to announce a camp partnership with legendary English side Chelsea FC.  The camps, which will be conducted during the week of June 30^th through July 3^rd at the Fredericksburg Academy Athletic Complex, will feature training from several coaches associated with the club.  Chelsea FC is one of the most popular soccer teams in the world, and is a perennial contender for the English Premier League Title as well as the Champions League tournament, which determines the best club team in Europe. 

“We are ecstatic to be working with Chelsea FC for our summer camps,” said Gunners General Manager Brian Shumate.  “Their level of professionalism is unsurpassed and we feel players of all ages will be able to learn a great deal from their training.” 

There will be two camp times during the week, with the U9-U12 players training from 9 AM-12 PM, and the U13-U16 players training from 1 PM – 4 PM.  Cost per player will be $240.  Each participant will receive top-level instruction from one of the professional Chelsea coaches, as well as a Chelsea FC training t-shirt. 

In addition, selected players may be invited to train with the club at their headquarters at Cobham, which is in London, England. 

Shumate added “it’s exciting to know there is a possibility that some of the top young players in this area will get the opportunity of a lifetime and train with one of the best clubs and organizations in the world.”
