The F.C. Fredericksburg Gunners are pleased to announce the return of the U9-U12 Super Y Academy for the Summer of 2008.  This program is designed to improve the technical skills that the game of soccer requires.  All players will work under the guidance of Technical Director Eric Dutt throughout the summer sessions.  "Last summer, this program provided over 100 players with the opportunity to improve their abilities in a professional training atmosphere.  We feel that the positive feedback from last year will catapult this program to more success in 2008."

The training sessions will run for 8 weeks and consist of two 90 minute sessions per week.  The U9-U10 Academy (Boys and Girls) will train from 5:00-6:30pm and the U11-U12 Academy (Boys and Girls) will train from 6:30-8:00pm.  The cost of the program is $299 in which all players will receive: Professional instruction, 2 Training shirts, 1 Training Short and 1 Training Sock. 

The goal of the Developmental Academy is to provide training and game environments that promote the continued growth of technical skill, an increased game awareness, and an appreciation for creativity and improvisation in the attack.  The program will involve specialized training through small-sided games that:

            ·         Promote individual technique through dribbling, passing and shooting
            ·         Encourage players to take calculated risks and to be creative
            ·         Increase the tactical awareness of different game scenarios
            ·         Develop running and coordination specific to the sport
            ·         Develop psychological component of attack minded players

The top level coaching staff will include PDL and W-League players (former professional and current collegiate stars), local licensed coaches and the Super Y coaching staff.  The F.C. Fredericksburg Gunners Super Y League Academy is a unique initiative that will benefit the development of all U9-U12 players in the central Virginia region.
